Supporter Spotlight

The Bridge is a grocery store that is a community-involved effort. It is our greatest joy to serve this community and it would not be possible without our volunteers, supporters, and donors - no matter the size, quantity, or time. Every bit counts. Thank you!

STORIES OF GENEROSITY BEYOND THE INITIAL GIFT

Midland 100 Club awards The Bridge Food Center $25,000 toward new building progress - thank you!

Updated: Feb 6, 2023

Thank you Midland 100 Club for believing in the efforts of The Bridge. Your generosity, combined with support from the community, has allowed The Bridge not only to serve double the customers we have in previous years, but has also given us the opportunity to make significant headway at our new location.

In 2022, The Bridge served 2,235 unique families which included 828 first time customers – that’s over double from previous years.

While the current location continues to see steady business, the new location has been under construction for our arrival. Here is what many of our volunteers, some of which include customers, have done with funds like those of the Midland 100 Club:

· LED lights have been installed,

· A wall separating the space into retail and warehouse has been framed in

· The bright red Save-a-Lot wall has been primed over ready for fresh paint

· The big news is that the new refrigeration system has been ordered. The lead time for this equipment is September 2023 pushing back our opening until the end of 2023.

Although that seems so far away, we know that we are on a journey and not a race – we will continue to serve this community at our current location until the new building is ready. In the new building, we will be able to serve more customers, offer additional high-quality food options, and revitalize Midland by using a building that has been empty for 3 years.

Thank you again for your faith and support in the Bridge Food Center. The Bridge truly is a community-run effort.
